Well....silly us tried to take on a big project right before Christmas. We're putting in hardwood floors in pretty much the whole house except for 2 bedrooms. Chloe has made our carpet her own personal playground...so it was way past time to take up the nasty stuff. We didn't think it would take very long but....ahem...we were wrong. It's 5 days before Christmas and we don't even have a tree yet. It's ok...I've had my share of flipping out. As a woman...you want everything in your home to be beautiful, clean, and IN ORDER....especially at Christmas! Now...the floors are in except for our bedroom...which we'll do after the holidays. I'll post some more pics after I've cleaned better, decorated, and the molding is in.
I just thought this was cute of Chloe. We had some cereal and she was too tired to stand and drink my milk. :)
We had some dinner on our beautiful saw table in the living room. Talk about fancy!
This is the living room and looking into the kitchen
I just wanted to post some pics from Thanksgiving and give an update on our lives. We went to Casey's parents for Thanksgiving. I actually had the holiday off which was nice. Eric and Jennifer came over so we all got to spend good quality family time together. They live on a 50 acre farm which is beautiful. We had fun riding the four wheeler...man can that thing go fast!! Enjoy the pics. My husband tells me I always put too many pictures, so I'll try and keep it to a minimum.
Casey excercising with Linda's muscle strenghtening bands. I don't think that will work honey!
Linda showing him the real way
ALL the men watching football......while......
The women cooked.....what?!? It probably would tastes better this way though.
Jackson is here. My cousin Jill had him on Friday. He is so adorable. I could just hold him all the time I think. He weighed 7 lbs 6 oz. Huge compared to what I work with, but defnitely more cuddly. Jackson looks just like his dad. Take a look at him....
On Sunday we celebrated Mary Catherine's birthday. We went to the Melting Pot. Yummo!! We filled up on cheese fondue, steak, shrimp, chicken, and of course chocolate fondue! MMM! It was so great to take a little time out of our schedule to spend some time with friends. Hope you had a great birthday!!
We went camping at Stone Mountain this past weekend. It was SO much fun and perfect weather. My brother and his 3 kids and my sister and her son came with us. It was great just to sit around a fire, talk, and roast hot dogs and marshmallows. The tents were successfully put up by my 2 girl scout nieces who have probably put more tents up than any of us combined. On Saturday...we climb Stone Mountain. Phew...what a workout, but a great accomplishment when we made it to the top! It's so beautiful up there. Our parents came and had supper with us Saturday night but went home to sleep in there warm and comfy bed. We watched the laser show Saturday night, which was freezing but so much fun. My brother's kids had never been to the park so this was an awesome experience for them. Here are some pics!!
My sister Ginger
Casey, Ashlie, and Abigail playin' some poker while.....
...me, Ginger, and Jon took a nap!
The bottom of the mountain....ready to hike! Yes....my niece is taller than me ok!!! She's 13 and is 5'10''!! I don't have a short complex...really.
Taking a break...
Zach got almost to the top and dramatically collapsed on the ground and said "Arghhmm....I...CAN'T....MAKE....IT!"
Who's coming to Goldrush??? We can't wait to hangout and see everybody. I love this time of year...Fall....cool weather, changing leaves, they holidays approaching! I'm assuming the poker tournament is still on....Casey is the current reigning champion!! Don't worry folks....I'll make him pass it on to the next champ. Anyway...see ya in a few weeks!!
This is a video for all you mom's out there....it's not relevant to my post. I just thought it was funny!
I went to Nashville this weekend with Brooke, Valerie, and Mary Catherine. We went to the Deeper Still conference to hear Beth Moore, Kay Arthur, and Priscilla Shirer. Can I just say....amazing! Each speaker brought something different and the way God spoke through them how can anyone deny him. Their study was based on David and how God directed his life. To be honest...my relationship with Christ has really benn non-existent lately. Satan had really got a hold and tempted me away from God. I didn't even want to go this weekend and now I know it was the enemy trying to keep me from running back to God. It's amazing how easily swayed you are when you aren't in the Word and talking with Christ everyday. I mean....you hope that you're showing people you work with the something different you have....but when you join in to the gossip fest or laugh at horrible worldly stories...I was not separating myself from the world. God showed me this weekend how lovingly he accepts you back, how I need to obediently follow his guidance and direction and not plan my life myself, and simply spend more time with Him getting to know Him more. Please pray that as I come down from this mountaintop experience I continue to deepen my relationship with God and follow his direction. Pray that God opens doors at work to share about him. Pray that Casey and I can find a church to get involved in. I'm pouring my heart out more than I normally do but what kind of friends are we if we can't share hard personal times as well. Thanks for listening. I'm so pumped about what God's going to do in our lives and I can't wait to go Deeper Still.
Just wanted to let ya'll know there's a new blog in town. The one and only Bassett family doing their blog in style.....the only way they know how! Check 'em out. There's a link on our friends list and be sure to watch the video.
This has been a been a weekend of parties. On Saturday...my mom, sister, sister-in-law, and me gave my cousin a baby shower. This is her 1st baby and Jackson will be here in November!! Then Saturday night we had a combo birthday party for Casey and Amy (sister-in-law). I made their birthday cake....a Boston Creme Pie...Casey's fav. His actual birthday is today....because he had class tonight we had a late dinner with grilled snapper and shrimp, roasted potatoes, caesar salad, and topped it off with a birthday cupcake! He got some really good presents too. My parents gave him Madden 08 for XBOX AND an autographed football from Joe Theisman with a picture of him and my mom....she saw him at a work conference. It's in a glass case and we'll find somewhere to display it. He also got a table saw that I gave him back in June that he wanted. Here are some pics from the weekend!

I just found out that nobody could see our vacation pictures! I fixed them...I hope. Let me know if you can see them. We had a birthday party for Casey last night so I'll put those pics up soon...but for now I'm off to clean the house!!! Woo-Hoo!
Okay guys! The moment you've all been waiting for! We had so much fun making this music video on vacation. It included a lot of the happenings we experienced in Orlando. Ok....I won't keep you waiting any longer!
Hey guys!! We just got back from Orlando last night. We spent the week with Kai and Lisa. It was packed with some theme park adventures to Universal Studios and Sea World which are both a must do! Overall I think The Mummy ride was the favorite of the group. Mom and Dad Colson gave us their condo to use which was such a great gift. We played some putt-putt that had the most creative scenery around. It was a Winter-themed course full of Santa Clause, elves, and continuous playing Christmas music. We went to Downtown Disney a couple of nights to hang out, eat dinner and Ghirardelli ice cream, and visit a bath store. Kai and Lisa introduced us to The Basin, a store stocked full of bath salts, bath bombs, soaps, and so much more. Kai showed Casey how to salt scrub his hands...which happens to be his new love. We even made a music video while we were down there.....that's right....a music video. It's premiere will be coming soon to a computer near you. It was a great and relaxing trip that of course went by WAY too fast. Hope you enjoy the pics. There's A LOT of them so put your feet up and relax!
Playing Shuffleboard at the resort. Don't laugh....it's actually really fun!
Uggh....the boys won!!!
I thought this was so amazing. It's so cool how they can train these animals to do this!! Anyone want to ride a killer whale??
Yep! That's the Delorean! Sad news though....Universal closed the Back to the Future ride! *Sniff*
Having some Green Eggs and Ham! Yummy!!
This picture reminds us of one of the funniest AND most uncomfortable stories of our trip. We were waiting in line FOREVER for the Dudley Doo-right Water ride and the father and son behind us kept getting a little too close for comfort. For an hour and a half straight they were all up on us....especially Casey. He IS pretty cute!
Playing a little Simpsons Clue!! Casey won!
Taking some romantic pictures along the lake at Downtown Disney.
Kai teaching Casey how to make his hands oh so smooth! Hee...Hee!
To Casey's surprise....he LOVED it and came back for more the next day!
Who would have thought!?!
Mr. Potato Head's gone mad!!! I wonder if it has anything to do with me picking his nose! Hmm!
Eating some YUMMY dinner at the Rainforest Cafe!
Always make time for some lovin'!
Eating dinner at Bennigan's. Don't ever go there.
Everybody got sick except for me.
Can you find the things that don't belong??
It was lightning like crazy and Casey wanted to catch it in action! Can you see it?? We missed the bolt but the pink sky in the background is actually lightning.
Casey pulling the sleigh and Kai hanging on for dear life!!
Casey, Lisa, AND me all got our golf balls stuck under the Christmas presents. Hmmm.....it's amazing how Casey didn't get HIS picture in this position! Kai won the putt-putt game with some amazing hole in ones!
So sad to get back to reality but I guess everyday can't be a play day!
