Christmas....Just a little late!

Well...it's the middle of January so I thought I should share our Christmas pics. Ha! It's been a little crazy around here with laying hardwood floors, bursting pipes, removing hardwood floors, relaying hardwood floors, and somehow fitting work, sleep, and trying to be normal in the mix. Christmas was so much fun. Casey's family came over a few days before Christmas to celebrate. We had a relaxed time and even got to celebrate my birthday. The next morning they all came to church with us. Our church is a little out of the norm, which we tried to prepare them. They have a praise band similar to 7:22 on a stage...but with spotlights and um...smoke and the our pastor comes out for the message. It's in a distribution warehouse...so not your typical sanctuary but you know....worship is worship no matter what building your in. For the beginning of the Christmas service they had 4 electric guitars playing Transiberian Orchestra's "Carol of The Bells". It was amazing. The guys are so talented and they love the Lord. The pastor came out to make sure our faces hadn't been blasted off. We had a very short but very great time with the Colsons. Then we hung out with my side of the family on Christmas. I worked Christmas Eve night so I was a LITTLE sleepy, but got to enjoy a few hours nap that afternoon. My brother and his family and my sister with her little boy and Casey spent the night at my parents house Christmas Eve then we opened presents that morning when I got home. It took 4 hours for all 11 of us to open everything. Probably because we take turns. I love watching what every one gets. Every year on Christmas night my mom's side of the family come over for snacks and games. My cousin's new baby came and I got to meet my other cousin's little girl. He lives in Oklahoma so it was great to see them. We have an annual Dirty Santa game and of course Mafia!! These people are crazy at Mafia....of course Mafia beat the pants off the citizens....as usual! Here are some pics!

Update to Come.....

I've been meaning to post for days now...but we've....um....had some drama. Who doesn't like Christmas weeks later!

Demolition in Progress

Well....silly us tried to take on a big project right before Christmas. We're putting in hardwood floors in pretty much the whole house except for 2 bedrooms. Chloe has made our carpet her own personal playground...so it was way past time to take up the nasty stuff. We didn't think it would take very long but....ahem...we were wrong. It's 5 days before Christmas and we don't even have a tree yet. It's ok...I've had my share of flipping out. As a woman...you want everything in your home to be beautiful, clean, and IN ORDER....especially at Christmas! Now...the floors are in except for our bedroom...which we'll do after the holidays. I'll post some more pics after I've cleaned better, decorated, and the molding is in.

I just thought this was cute of Chloe. We had some cereal and she was too tired to stand and drink my milk. :)

We had some dinner on our beautiful saw table in the living room. Talk about fancy!

Belated Thanksgiving and more

I just wanted to post some pics from Thanksgiving and give an update on our lives. We went to Casey's parents for Thanksgiving. I actually had the holiday off which was nice. Eric and Jennifer came over so we all got to spend good quality family time together. They live on a 50 acre farm which is beautiful. We had fun riding the four wheeler...man can that thing go fast!! Enjoy the pics. My husband tells me I always put too many pictures, so I'll try and keep it to a minimum.

Casey excercising with Linda's muscle strenghtening bands. I don't think that will work honey!

Linda showing him the real way

ALL the men watching football......while......

The women cooked.....what?!? It probably would tastes better this way though.

And to come.....

A demolition in progress!!

Newest Member of the Family

Jackson is here. My cousin Jill had him on Friday. He is so adorable. I could just hold him all the time I think. He weighed 7 lbs 6 oz. Huge compared to what I work with, but defnitely more cuddly. Jackson looks just like his dad. Take a look at him....

Camping Trip

We went camping at Stone Mountain this past weekend. It was SO much fun and perfect weather. My brother and his 3 kids and my sister and her son came with us. It was great just to sit around a fire, talk, and roast hot dogs and marshmallows. The tents were successfully put up by my 2 girl scout nieces who have probably put more tents up than any of us combined. On Saturday...we climb Stone Mountain. Phew...what a workout, but a great accomplishment when we made it to the top! It's so beautiful up there. Our parents came and had supper with us Saturday night but went home to sleep in there warm and comfy bed. We watched the laser show Saturday night, which was freezing but so much fun. My brother's kids had never been to the park so this was an awesome experience for them. Here are some pics!!

Deeper Still

I went to Nashville this weekend with Brooke, Valerie, and Mary Catherine. We went to the Deeper Still conference to hear Beth Moore, Kay Arthur, and Priscilla Shirer. Can I just say....amazing! Each speaker brought something different and the way God spoke through them how can anyone deny him. Their study was based on David and how God directed his life. To be honest...my relationship with Christ has really benn non-existent lately. Satan had really got a hold and tempted me away from God. I didn't even want to go this weekend and now I know it was the enemy trying to keep me from running back to God. It's amazing how easily swayed you are when you aren't in the Word and talking with Christ everyday. I mean....you hope that you're showing people you work with the something different you have....but when you join in to the gossip fest or laugh at horrible worldly stories...I was not separating myself from the world. God showed me this weekend how lovingly he accepts you back, how I need to obediently follow his guidance and direction and not plan my life myself, and simply spend more time with Him getting to know Him more. Please pray that as I come down from this mountaintop experience I continue to deepen my relationship with God and follow his direction. Pray that God opens doors at work to share about him. Pray that Casey and I can find a church to get involved in. I'm pouring my heart out more than I normally do but what kind of friends are we if we can't share hard personal times as well. Thanks for listening. I'm so pumped about what God's going to do in our lives and I can't wait to go Deeper Still.

Casey Turns 31!

This has been a been a weekend of parties. On Saturday...my mom, sister, sister-in-law, and me gave my cousin a baby shower. This is her 1st baby and Jackson will be here in November!! Then Saturday night we had a combo birthday party for Casey and Amy (sister-in-law). I made their birthday cake....a Boston Creme Pie...Casey's fav. His actual birthday is today....because he had class tonight we had a late dinner with grilled snapper and shrimp, roasted potatoes, caesar salad, and topped it off with a birthday cupcake! He got some really good presents too. My parents gave him Madden 08 for XBOX AND an autographed football from Joe Theisman with a picture of him and my mom....she saw him at a work conference. It's in a glass case and we'll find somewhere to display it. He also got a table saw that I gave him back in June that he wanted. Here are some pics from the weekend!
