Twinkle Twinkle Little Star....

We've gave my sister a baby shower last weekend. She got lots of fun stuff...I don't think she'll have to buy anything. She's having a little girl, Murphy. I wanted to do something special for he so I made her a baby quilt. It was my first one ever. Quilting is definitely my new hobby. It was so much fun. Check out the pics.

A work in progress
The finished quilt!

My favorite quilt animal. Casey drew this one for me. Then I traced, cut, and appliqued the pieces down. Then I embroidered the edges on the machine and hand embroidered the eyes and mouth. Isn't he cute??

A lot of my pictures were blurry, so this the only good one of her opening the quilt. There were tears involved when she realized I made it. It was very sweet.

And on another note...one of my best friends from high school got married on Saturday. I was a bridesmaid, but was not very good at taking pictures. I didn't even get one of us together! Her name's Jennifer. She looked absolutely beautiful! Congrats Mrs. Dooley!

A few of the bridesmaids!

CBS update

Well....I got jipped by CBS. Let's all boycott! HA! The reporter who was coming played phone tag with me for a few days and then didn't call back until Tuesday....the day the show was to air! How rude! Apparently they ran out of time to do extra interviews, but wanted me to be part of a follow up show this week. Who needs follow up on COUPONS!!??? Anywho.....needless to say....I haven't heard from her. Surprise Surprise! Guess I'll just have to go back to NOT being famous. *Sigh*

I'm gonna be on TV!!!!

That's right folks! I'm gonna be a tv star...equipped with a dressing room, bulb lit mirror, an agent, and fame! I'm gonna have to watch out for the papperazzi now! Nah....just kidding....but I AM being interviewed by CBS news (Hence the huge picture I couldn't make smaller). They are doing a story on the Grocery Game and my name came up on a list for the website. I've had 7 referrals, so my name came up. CBS is coming to my house on Monday to interview me and look at my stockpile. The show will air on Tuesday....I imagine the 5:00 or 6:00 news...not sure yet. Be sure to look my TV debut. Next it's the Today Show then Racheal Ray or maybe Oprah! Hee...Hee!

Shower and a Rush of Gold

Well...time got away from me before I could post Gold rush pictures. So I'm making it a double entry. We went to Dahlonega for Gold Rush a few weekends ago and were able to spend lots of time with old college friends. It was so great to hang out with friends we hadn't seen in a while. Here are some pics.

Kai was a little scared!

Sunday was Brooke's first bridal shower. She's tying the knot in December and we wanted to do something special for her big day. We had a great turn out and she got lots of great stuff to begin her career of wife.

Just wanted to add our pumpkin in. Casey was making a storm trooper from Star Wars.

I forgot to post the pictures of our work in progress.

Larry and his favorite tool....the tiny roller!

He sure did love to paint with that thing. He was teaching Casey the proper way to apply paint. Like father like son! I'm surprised it didn't take longer!

Photobucket

This was the box of its own imagination. I swear....every time you got near the thing it would spring out all the nails! Hee....Hee!

A Little Remodeling

Well folks we've been doing some remodeling in our house. One because it so desperately needed it...and two because we hope to sell sometime in the near future if the housing market ever goes up. Casey will be graduating in May so we plan to move wherever he gets a job. We put down hardwood floors....ahem...several months ago and after a little procrastinating were able to put down the trim. Casey's dad, Larry, came over for a week to help Casey with the monstrous project. Initially, they were just going to put the trim down and we would paint later. I had 3 overtime days coming up and only had 2 days off in between work. I couldn't be too much help. Come to find out...we have No babies at Northside. Our census is down into the 70's. I know...it sounds like a lot of babies to have in the ICU but we're usually in the 90's to 100's. They've been calling people off like crazy, so it worked out well for us. So I ended up having 6 days off! The men decided it would be easier to paint the house BEFORE the trim....make it easier on us later. So...after a brief discussion and quick decision I picked 2 paint colors and headed off to Lowe's. We pretty much painted the entire house...minus the 3 bedrooms. We spent 4 days painting. The majority of the walls were a gold almost khaki color and the kitchen is a celery green. It's amazing how a little paint can make a room pop and look entirely new and fresh. Larry wanted so badly to see the finished product, so he kept extending his time with us. It was great to have him around for a week....we worked hard....played a little....and enjoyed good times with him. However...we sent him home with numb fingers and sore knees and muscles. What a way to start his first week of retirement. Larry....thank you so much for all your hard work and energy. We appreciate it so much! Enjoy the pictures of our new abode!

Photobucket

It's a little hard to see the gold color in this picture, but this is our foyer. It's more yellow than tan, but the colors look different depending on the time of day.

Photobucket

Because our walls are weird, we had to paint the wall behind the couch green because it follows into the kitchen.

This was Casey's idea to put white trim around our slate fireplace. Snazzy!

A Few Lost Pics

Did ya'll think we fell off the planet? I've had good intentions for all sorts of blogs lately. I take pictures of this and that thinking "hey...this is bloggable" then one week turns into two weeks and next thing you know a month has gone by. So....my good intentions have turned into a hodgepodge of pictures and stories. Some of you have been wanting to know when the next blog is coming up so enjoy. Hee...Hee. I always enjoy reading a new blog from my friends. I love when new updates come often. I mean...I check them most everyday and sometimes more. My secret is out. I'm a blog stalker. Those of you who update often...I look up to you...you're my role model. LOL...ok...so check out our pics.

Casey made me dinner one night before work and surprised me with a pear turtle. Isn't he sweet? I couldn't help but take a picture!

Photobucket

We have a new cousin in the family. My cousin, Brian and his wife Michelle just had a baby in June. He's name is Peter. He is so cute!! And has such a sweet personality.

Photobucket

Great Aunt and Uncle!

Photobucket

Me, Peter, and my sister Ginger playing with Peter. During the couple hour visit...he had a blow out and pooped on me at a restaurant then puked on me at my parent's house. Awwh...he loves me!

Photobucket
We went to Casey's parents house in Alabama for his birthday. Grandma made him a pound cake with really yummy red icing. We couldn't find any candles so Linda found some windmills to blow out! His parents gave him Rosetta Stone software so he could learn Spanish for when he starts teaching. It's pretty cool! We're both learning Spanish. So far I know....The boy drinks....the women swim. Hee...Hee! I'm only in the first lesson...there's more Espanol to come. Maybe Hollie, the Spanish teacher, can help us.

Photobucket

We also had lots of Croquet battles. Casey and his dad, Larry spent about 5 hours out side in August duking it out on the playing field.

Photobucket
I duked it out in a different way. He deserved it. :) He was beating me!

Photobucket
Look how talented my husband is!

Photobucket

Just thought I'd throw this in. She was busy running around on the farm exploring all the different smells and sites. I actually got her to stop and smile for me. She sure does love the camera!

Photobucket

We went up to Dahlonega a few weeks ago to meet Eli Tritt and hang out with some friends. Isn't he just the cutest! He was only a week old and so tiny. Congrats MC!

Photobucket

Um....he's still a little nervous about holding little people. He'll get used to it one day hopefully!

Photobucket

We had a cookout at the Bassett abode and got to see the Skogman's. We had lots of fun playing with sweet Jasper.

Photobucket

Kai and Lisa came over this weekend. We played some Spades and Tennis and of course ate some yummy food. Chloe sure does LOVE when Uncle Kai and Aunt Lisa come over. She sat on Kai's lap like that for a while. Hee..Hee

Photobucket

Chloe getting ready for the Falcon's game today...she always wears her Falcons jersey for the big day. This is her fightin' face....Green Bay's gonna lose!!
